Line Practice
To improve our drawing skills, it is important that we dedicate time to the basics. It is important for complete beginners and advanced artists. When we draw, we must have control of the connection between our eyes and the lines we make. As you draw, focus on the direction you’re going as much as the location of your pencil at the moment. This will help your eyes and hand to synchronize.
Begin with diagonal lines. Try to make them as symmetrical as possible. With the same length of space in between each line. Then try the vertical lines, making sure they are as straight as you can, this is easier if the squares are no larger than 3 inches. Continue with all these patterns and later let me know if you noticed a difference in your skill after. I feel like every time I practice these, my lines and shapes turn out more accurate in my drawings.
There are many ways to practice lines. It doesn't have to always be as we did in the exercise, you may also try a more artistic approach once you've practiced enough! I leave you some examples of creative and fun ways to practice lines.
